Conservation – an action taken to ensure that survival of a building or object, regular maintenance or the stabilisation of a structure to prevent damage by water penetration beinn examples.

Restoration – repairing something in such a way that it is returned to a condition that existed at some point in the past, this can also include the total replacement of missing elements. A typical example would be the replacement of corrugated iron roof with thatch.

Renovation – this can include both of the above but, normally includes some form of improvement in the performances of the structure, an example being the fitting of double glazing.

In reality most projects include all of the above.

Retford Property Services Ltd act as principle or specialist sub-contractors, using our own team of craftsmen, along with specialist conservators, to produce high quality work for our clients.
